Tazugane Gothic was designed by Akira Kobayashi, Kazuhiro, Yamada, and Ryota Doi of Monotype Studio in 2016. It is the first Japanese typeface and is considered original amongst other Japanese typeface family. It includes ten extraordinary weights from Ultra Light, Bold, to Extra Black to match the characteristic of Latin typeface, Neue Frutiger. Tazugane Gothic creates a balance between the natural humanistic style and the classic Japanese handwriting. These two fonts work harmoniously in order for the Latin and Japanese texts to adapt in variety of applications such as books, digital device, magazines, signage, and other branding and printing need.
